Today is the start of new things and new beginnings. I am now on my own and the business has been renamed to Sheena Kaszynski Photography!!! I have gone back to my roots, and I cannot believe how far I’ve come, as I opened the portrait studio in Washington, IL in 2020. I began my photography journey in 2011. I am always so happy to meet the new life that has been born into a family. Some say that all newborns look the same. I completely disagree with this statement!! Every newborn baby already has a developing personality that will grow along with them. Some newborns smile a lot, some are noisy, some sleep soundly; some like to wake often to check out what we’re doing. (Parents usually love when babies wake up and show off their adorable eyes)!! It’s a very fascinating process. This goes right along with what they look like. My babies were very bald as newborns, so posing a baby with lots of hair is always amazing to me. This little girl not only had hair, she had tons of it!! She also gave me lots of smiles!!! Lillian’s parents are also very creative people with fun ideas, and we had a great session with them! They are such a beautiful family!! For today’s post, I will also explain what each pose is, and this may help with preparing for your own newborn session!! The first image is baby swaddled in a cradle. Babies are used to being snuggled in the womb, and are very often comforted when wrapped up. The second image is baby swaddled in a basket. The next pose is baby posed on her tummy with her leg hanging in a tiny bed. As you can see, baby is very content and happy in this position. The next pose is often requested, and that is baby posed in a bucket!! This can also be done in a basket as well. This is one of my favorite poses. The photo in blush pink also features baby in one of my most requested poses, and that is the froggy pose. This pose is achieved by taking several photos, and is actually created later in Photoshop!!
